Hello everyone. In previous projects carried out by our company, many horizontal storage tanks were built on site, and no issues with internal reinforcement arose. This time, we hired a welder to construct a storage tank for us on site; it’s a horizontal tank with a capacity of 60 cubic meters and a wall thickness of 8 mm. Support rings were added inside; I don’t think they’re necessary, but since they’ve already been added, there’s surely no harm in that. After all, it wasn’t designed by a design institute, and it still helped me gain some knowledge. I’ll share the texture with everyone later; such reinforcement is indeed very strong. I have worked on many projects, including horizontal storage tanks with capacities of 100 cubic meters and 150 cubic meters, and none of them required reinforcement. The purpose of my post: 1. To show everyone a new type of reinforcement method ; 2. Based on everyone’s discussion, has anyone encountered such a problem before? Share your opinions.

Ugh, I guess they’ve never been in a manufacturing plant. . . This type of support is mainly used for large-diameter thin-walled tanks or large-diameter tower equipment; its primary function is to maintain a circular shape, prevent the equipment from having excessive out-of-roundness, and facilitate assembly. When the main body is a stainless steel device, stainless steel curved plates are used directly.

Once it’s done and put together, it can no longer be seen; this method really isn’t very good.
Most of these types of tanks require the installation of manholes and similar internal components; the welding points indicate that these are temporary supports added for support purposes, and they are to be removed after the connections are completed. After demolition, it needs to be polished and treated for corrosion prevention. Holes also need to be made to connect the pipes,,,,. For those that are pressure vessels, inspection by the safety supervision department is also required. When deploying covert projects, it is necessary to explain things clearly. You’ll know once it’s done; just keep an eye on it. :lol
It’s definitely temporary; when manufacturing thin-walled tanks in a factory, they use such supports – it’s something common these days. . . .
This occurs not only with horizontal tanks but also during the manufacture of vertical tanks. It is recommended that you check inside the tank after it’s completed to see if it’s still there.
