I would like to ask the experts here: regarding the connection between the safety valve and the container’s process interface, the data sheet provided by the foreign party specifies NPT 1 1/2" as the required standard. The container has a 6-inch flange at the top, and according to the drawings, a blind plate should be installed with a threaded hole in it for fitting the safety valve. So what is the appropriate choice for me to use on site? Are there any optimization solutions?
This design is clearly not very practical. According to the container design, either a threaded connection is used to connect directly to the safety valve, or a flanged connection is used for that purpose. For this one, you also need to design internal threaded holes on a flange cover to connect the safety valve. This flange cover is a non-standard one, and it needs to be designed, calculated, and drawn.
This type of flange is included in the HG flange standards; it has threads in the middle. But a 6-inch flange has 6-inch threads. This one can only be made as a custom order.
Make a size-specific headband with 1.5 and 6-inch flanges
If no device outlet is provided, create a threaded connection of the appropriate size.
Determine the connection method for the port based on whether the threads on the purchased safety valve are internal or external. If the safety valve has external threads, it is sufficient to drill threaded holes in the flange cover; the flange cover requires calculation and drafting. If the threads on the safety valve are internal threads, then a transition fitting should be welded to the flange cover at the location of the hole, in order to connect it to the safety valve; both the hole in the flange cover and the transition fitting need to be detailed in the drawings.
