May I ask if the air storage tank of a mobile air compressor is considered a pressure vessel, and whether registration is required?
It is a pressure vessel and falls under the regulatory provisions for the safety inspection of mobile pressure vessels. However, whether registration is required depends on whether it falls within the scope of management of the Safety Technical Inspection Regulations for Mobile Pressure Vessels. If the pressure is greater than or equal to 0.1 MPa and the volume is greater than or equal to 450 L, it must be registered for management.

Refer to TSG21-2016 \"Safety Technical Inspection Regulations for Fixed Pressure Vessels\" – the air storage tanks of mobile air compressors only need to meet the requirements of Sections 1 General Provisions, 3 Design, and 4 Manufacturing of TSG21-2016. In other words, manufacturing and inspection are required at the time of production, but no registration for use or regular inspections are necessary during the designed service life. However, according to the regulations for the use and management of special equipment, monthly and annual inspections are required, and safety valves and pressure gauges need to be calibrated on a regular basis.
Check the equipment nameplate: if it is classified as a pressure vessel, registration is required; if the nameplate indicates that it is a simple pressure vessel, no registration is needed.
