Should the pressure vessels (evaporator, condenser) on mobile refrigerators be treated as fixed pressure vessels? On which units in a petrochemical plant are such devices installed?
Those that are inspected and released for use as fixed pressure vessels are to be managed as such, while there are also a few that are inspected and released for use as mobile pressure vessels from the start. What does the portable refrigerator that the poster is referring to look like? I’ve never seen any mobile or skid-mounted refrigeration units, whether they use Freon or ammonia as a cooling agent; there are quite a few skid-mounted units, but they can’t be moved just easily. Vessels with a volume of less than 0.03 m3 or those that are of a simple design are not regulated as fixed pressure vessels.
