Airtightness test of activated carbon adsorber

We are now purchasing an activated carbon adsorber (for VOC absorption), with a cubic box structure. Its operating pressure is 5 kPa, while the design pressure is 10 kPa. The customer has requested that the manufacturer conduct a gas-tightness test at 10 kPa, but the manufacturer claims that this could cause bulging. Do those who work with seawater have any experience? If bulging occurs, does it mean the strength is insufficient and the wall thickness of the equipment needs to be increased?
Ask him why it makes noise; by design, it shouldn’t make any noise
It meets the specification requirements; the airtightness test should not result in bulging.
Since airtightness is ensured under design pressure, there should be no problem; if bulging occurs, it may indicate an issue with the design strength or manufacturing!
