As the title indicates, it is a buffer with an operating pressure of 25 MPa and a main material of 16MnⅢ; the flange at one of its pipe ends, a, is used to connect to the compressor outlet. The original design used 35Ⅱ for this pipe fitting (made by other companies, reason unknown). It has been in use for ten years without any problems; now its useful life is up and it needs to be replaced and rebuilt ; Party A approached our company and requested a new one to be made. However, our company does not have the relevant welding techniques or manufacturing experience, so we would like to ask for some time off to learn about the precautions related to these techniques.
Why not use the same material as the housing?
Is 35ii a forged part of steel grade 35? I think you have a misunderstanding; is it that the swivel flange for port A is size 35, while the pipe fitting is also 16mniii?
The specifications for material requirements state that the carbon content in welded carbon steel should not exceed 0.25%; as for steel grade 35, welding it is not an option.
Steel grade 35 is a medium-carbon steel; it cannot be used for welding, but can be used as bolt connectors
Such materials are not allowed to be welded for pressure vessel components, as cracks can easily occur
The flange swivel is made of 35 material, while the welded short pipe is a 16MN forged piece; the two are not welded together
