What is the function of this thing on the Hattmann ball valve?

What is the purpose of the small semicircle on this valve ball? Support? It can rotate, but the range of rotation is limited
It appears to be a fixed ball valve; it might serve a supporting function.
I hadn’t noticed. It should be about determining the position and the center of the ball. But it feels like it shouldn’t be able to rotate. If it can rotate, wear is likely to occur and the clearance will be large, which can result in the switch not seating properly
With my primary school education level, it should have two claws on it to increase torque
