Currently, materials are being calcined in a rotary kiln; the raw materials contain about 13% bound water. After feeding the materials into the rotary kiln, the temperature of the exhaust gases drops to around 80°. Water drips from the inlet and outlet of the dust collector, and the dust collected inside cannot be removed. Basically, the dust collector stops functioning after 2–3 hours. Is there anyone who understands this issue?
The exhaust temperature is too low, below the dew point of the mixture. Raising the flue gas temperature can solve it. The flue gas from the boiler is like this; I’m not sure if the rotary kiln is the same as well.
Thank you for the reply! The problem lies in the low temperature of the exhaust gas. We have now added a heater to supply hot air, and this has worked – the dust collector no longer drips water. However, upon checking the material inside the dust collector, we found that it is still moist, and over time this will still cause problems. I wonder if there is still any way you can do something in this regard, or if we need to continue increasing the supply of hot air.
Add a cooler for dehydration before dust removal. Can your dust collector handle further increases in exhaust gas temperature? Bag filters have a limited temperature tolerance.
