What are the requirements for setting up the drain port on the shell side of the heat exchanger? Can there be more than one? (We have a heat exchanger with circulating water on the shell side. Due to water quality problems, we are worried about the accumulation of dirt for a long time and the corrosion under the scale. We want to drain the sewage regularly. Can we install a baffle at each layer?
Just design one. When designing the heat exchanger, make the heat exchanger slightly sloped, with the sewage discharge point at the lower end. There must be a water tank under each baffle. This is a requirement for horizontal heat exchangers to have phases on the shell side.
I haven’t seen many of them. Water problems require water treatment. What’s the use of having more settings?
Generally, there are not multiple sewage outlets. If you feel that the equipment needs it, you can also set up multiple sewage outlets to discharge sewage regularly.

Set the number of drain outlets according to the process requirements. Usually the fixed saddle and the sliding saddle can be set at different heights. The equipment is slightly tilted and a diversion trough is opened at the lower point of the baffle. In this way, one drain outlet is enough.
