Austenitic stainless steel: Mandatory requirements for austenitic stainless steel containers are as follows: 01 High-alloy steel plates in accordance with GB 24511; pressure vessels generally use ordinary precision, and if higher precision (designation PT) is used, it must be specified in the design documents. 02 The design documents shall specify the surface treatment type for steel plates. Hot-rolled products used in pressure vessels generally belong to the 1D grade (hot rolling, heat treatment, pickling), while cold-rolled products generally belong to the 2B grade (cold rolling, heat treatment, pickling or descaling, brightening). 03 High-alloy steel forgings shall all be forged from steel that has been refined outside the furnace. 04 Cylindrical, annular, and bowl-shaped forgings used as container shells and heads should be of grade III or IV. 05 The blanks for studs of various steel grades shall undergo tensile testing, and the testing requirements and results shall comply with the provisions of GB/T 1220. 06 For S30408 studs that have undergone solution treatment followed by strain strengthening, when they are used at temperatures below -100°C, the stamping blanks of these studs must pass an impact test at that operating temperature, with a KV2 value of ≥41 J. 07 Stainless steel and composite steel plates that require corrosion resistance shall not have hard-print markings on their corrosion-resistant surfaces. 08 For chromium-nickel austenitic stainless steels designed for temperatures of -100°C to -196°C, the carbon content in the base metal should be C≤0.10%. The weld metal must undergo impact testing at the design temperature (if the design temperature is below -192°C, the impact test temperature is set at -192°C), with a KV2 value of ≥31 J.
