Austenitic stainless steel: Mandatory requirements for austenitic stainless steel containers are as follows: 01 There shall be no undercuts on the surface of the container welds. 02 The testing of the intergranular corrosion sensitivity of stainless steel shall be carried out in accordance with GB/T 21433. 03 Welded joints are generally not subjected to post-weld heat treatment. 04 The acceptable impact test value for the weld metal of austenitic steels is 31 J. 05 For austenitic stainless steels and their associated forged parts, where the thickness of the welded joints is greater than 30 mm, Class A and Class B welded joints shall undergo 100% non-destructive testing (RT/UT/TOFD). 06 When the steel thickness is >20 mm, the surfaces of its butt and fillet joints shall be subjected to magnetic particle or penetrant testing. 07 After passing the pressure test, the water should be drained and dried immediately; if it is not possible to drain and dry it completely, the chloride ion concentration in the water should be kept at no more than 25 mg/L. 08 Austenitic steel plates for storage tanks: hot-rolled products are generally of grade 1E (hot-rolled, heat-treated, mechanically deoxygenated), while cold-rolled products are generally of grade 2D (cold-rolled, heat-treated, pickled or descaled).
