The initial inspection for general equipment is every 3 years; in this scenario, the specific causes of the cross-welds are not taken into account, only whether the safety rating of the equipment’s current condition is affected.
The rating for cross welds alone is level 3. According to the code, patch welding the pit is the simplest method. Is the material special, or are the conditions on site insufficient?
