Cleaning plan for cleaning graphite heat exchangers

Hello everyone. Currently, several of the jackets on our graphite heat exchangers are covered with sludge and salt deposits, and they need to be cleaned. Given the cost considerations, we plan to purchase cleaning chemicals ourselves for this purpose. Does anyone have any good suggestions? We’ve asked the manufacturer, which provided only the following information: “Alkaline chemicals must not be used for cleaning; solvents unsuitable for graphite should also be avoided. Additionally, sulfuric acid at concentrations above 60%, hydrofluoric acid at concentrations above 40%, and nitric acid at any concentration must not be used.””
We want to use chemical agents for direct recirculation cleaning; however, the manufacturer’s cleaning procedure requires a complete disassembly, which makes the cost prohibitively high.
If there are problems with self-cleaning, the manufacturer will definitely try to shift the responsibility
The cost of cleaning it oneself is indeed low, but it’s basically unusable after cleaning. The reason is that both acidic and alkaline cleaning agents can damage the graphite itself or the bonding joints, so it is essentially unusable ； Circulating clean water doesn’t yield much effect, so it’s up to each user to decide how to carry out the cleaning.
