In composite plate manufacturing equipment, there are many small pipes (such as DN200/DN250). In many cases, the design requires carbon steel pipes to have cladding layers welded on them, but this process is difficult for many manufacturers to carry out. It would be more time and effort-saving to design pipes made of stainless steel from the start and to purchase such pipes directly
Maybe they don’t want to weld dissimilar steels as the base material
Some processes require operating conditions that involve high temperatures and corrosion resistance; therefore, a corrosion-resistant layer needs to be welded on the inner side of the 1Cr5Mo reinforcement pipes.
Can an inner liner be used when the temperature does not exceed 300° and the pressure is below 1..6 MpA?
Lined pipes are even more expensive than stainless steel pipes; it’s sufficient to use stainless steel pipes directly.
