I’m new to the management of special equipment and don’t have much knowledge on this topic. I would like to ask what are the steps involved in getting a pressure vessel ready for use, from the beginning until it’s put into operation? Once it’s in use, what documents should be included in my records as the entity responsible for its use? Does anyone have any experience to share or recommendations on what materials I can consult to learn more about this subject?
Design-Manufacture-Use: The design and manufacturing processes are accompanied by supervision and inspection; during the usage phase, inspections or supervisory checks also take place. Registration is required before use. As for the archival materials: there are specific requirements for design, manufacturing, use, inspection, and supervision, and the required retention periods vary; currently, it is generally the design service life, which means they are to be kept for life. Specifically, you need to check the corresponding technical specifications, which list everything in detail. Under normal circumstances, the using unit should keep: manufacturing data, design documents, etc.
1. Obtain Certificate A 2. Study and become familiar with TSG 08-2017
For newcomers dealing with the management of special equipment, I have just one piece of advice: never sign any documents that you don’t fully understand. Regardless of what others say, never sign documents that you haven’t fully comprehended. If you don’t know something, ask your seniors or managers, and consult the relevant guidelines. Never feel embarrassed, and never pretend to know what you don’t; ask more questions, observe more, and speak less.
