It is a DN1400 head, manufactured by the head factory through die pressing from a single sheet of material; the material used is stainless steel with a thickness of 16 mm. The ovality measured during factory inspection was within the limits specified by the standards. However, after mechanical polishing by the equipment manufacturer, the ovality exceeded the allowed limits. What caused the deformation of the head?
Polishing also removes some material to some extent, thereby disrupting the original stress balance. I think this deformation is also elastic; after alignment with the cylinder body later on, there will be no problem at all, so don’t worry
Our equipment has high requirements regarding the roundness of the cylinder, as it contains agitators that span the entire diameter
Mechanical polishing generates a significant amount of heat, which can cause thermal deformation of the head; moreover, it is not possible to achieve true rotation around the center. Try applying some circumferential rigid fixation during processing – the deformation of this head will affect the installation of your mixer.
