Neither of these materials has very good wear resistance at this temperature; relatively speaking, 304 has slightly better wear resistance.

The operating temperature is around 400 degrees, and it doesn’t take long for the sealing plates to wear out. I now want to switch to stainless steel or other materials; are there any better options?

400-degree wear resistance requires composite ND steel.
For Q235B steel plates, the allowable stress is no longer available at 400°C; in my opinion, this means it cannot be used at that temperature. Based on this, if I had to choose between the two, I would definitely go with stainless steel, but it’s also necessary to check whether the allowable stress is sufficient.
For local wear resistance, we use GBT 24186 high-strength wear-resistant steel plates for construction machinery; the temperature is lower than that of your option, by about 200 degrees, so please take that into consideration
