【Haichuan Expands Horizons】Aerial assembly of the upper section of the hydrogen sulfide concentration tower in Baofeng’s coal-based new materials purification facility

On February 25, 2024, at the site of the Inner Mongolia Baofeng coal-based new materials project, as the massive arm of a 2,000-ton crawler crane was raised, the upper section of the hydrogen sulfide concentration tower in Unit #2 purification facility was successfully assembled in the air. Given the large scale of this lifting task, prompt action was taken as soon as the tower arrived; it was transported and unloaded right away. Meanwhile, the area where the tower would be placed was prepared in advance, and multiple workers worked round the clock to successfully carry out tasks such as welding the pipelines, installing lighting equipment, and applying anti-corrosion and insulation measures to the tower. In the face of practical challenges such as multiple concurrent operations on site, to ensure the safe and successful lifting of the hydrogen sulfide concentration tower, the project was carefully planned and organized; the performance of the lifting equipment and cranes was checked, and the personnel involved in the lifting operation were briefed on the lifting plan. Given that the lifting weight in this operation was approximately 170 tons, a 2000-ton crawler crane was used as the main lifting device, along with a 1250-ton auxiliary crane for the lifting tasks. Thanks to the close cooperation of the team on site, the sulfide concentration tower was successfully assembled in the air! The successful assembly of this hydrogen sulfide concentration tower provides technical support for the subsequent lifting of Unit 1 and Unit 3 purification systems.
