Dear teachers, for U-tube heat exchangers where the design temperature and pressure of the tube side are different from those of the shell side, how should the pressure ratings of the flanges on the tube box equipment and those on the shell side equipment be determined?
The pressure ratings of the shell side equipment flanges and the tube side equipment flanges in U-tube heat exchangers should be determined based on their respective design temperatures and design pressures.
