Currently, nickel alloy steel is a commonly used material for cryogenic and ultra-cryogenic vessels. The table below lists all the grades of nickel alloy steel plates, as well as the scope of nickel alloy steel plates covered by various domestic and international standards. The series of grades for nickel alloy steel plates in domestic standards are: 0.5Ni, 1.5Ni, 3.5Ni, 5Ni, 7Ni, 9Ni. The series of grades for nickel alloy steel plates in foreign standards include: 13MnNi6-3, 15NiMn6, X12Ni5, X8Ni9, X6Ni7, X7Ni9, 3.5%Ni, 5%Ni, 9%Ni, and so on. Among these, 0.5Ni steel is used in the construction of low-temperature liquefied gas storage and transportation systems where the design temperature is above -60°C, while 7Ni steel is an nickel-saving ultra-low temperature steel mentioned in the 13th Five-Year Plan as a substitute for 9Ni steel.
