Brief introduction to process equipment: Process equipment generally refers to the hardware means used in the process industries, such as machinery, equipment, pipelines, tools, and measurement and control instruments. In the process industry, process equipment constitutes the core of a complete set of process units. It refers to both unit process equipment (such as towers, heat exchangers, reactors, and storage tanks) and unit process machines (such as compressors, pumps, separators, etc.). Additionally, process equipment also includes process control. Static equipment: (1) Unit process equipment (static equipment), also known as chemical processing equipment or pressure vessels, accounts for 80%~85% of the total investment cost in equipment. It includes pressure vessels, towers, reactors, heat exchangers, storage tanks, heating furnaces, pipelines, etc. Movable equipment (2) – Unit process machines (movable equipment), also known as chemical machinery, fluid machinery, or power equipment, account for 20% to 25% of the total investment costs in equipment for the process industry; they constitute the heart of system operation. Process control (3) Process control is also known as control instruments or automation equipment; it includes measuring and control instruments, valves, electrical power supplies, converters, computers, monitoring devices, recording devices, etc. Process control primarily deals with parameters such as pressure, temperature, flow rate, concentration, density, viscosity, and liquid level.
