I would like to know what is the minimum temperature for hydraulic testing of a non-low-temperature vessel made of 16MnDR material? Personally, I think it will definitely be fine with the requirements for Q345R material at 15°C. But now the inspection agency requires that the temperature be 15°C; I hope someone with expertise can share their insights! !

Although you may think that meeting the 15°C requirement for Q345R material is sufficient, if the testing agency specifies that 15°C must be achieved, it is best to follow this stricter standard to ensure the validity of the tests and the safety of the equipment. .
General rule: During hydrostatic testing, the temperature of the testing medium must be higher than the material’s brittle transition temperature to ensure the accuracy of the test results. At the same time, the test temperature should also take into account factors such as the material’s coefficient of thermal expansion and the boiling point of the liquid. Requirements for specific materials: For equipment made of carbon steel, Q345R, and similar materials, the temperature of the liquid used in the hydraulic test should generally not be lower than 5°C. For other low-alloy steel equipment (excluding materials specifically designed for low-temperature environments, such as the use of 16MnDR in low-temperature pressure vessels), the temperature of the liquid used in hydraulic testing should generally not be lower than 15°C.

Furthermore, low-temperature materials are all subjected to low-temperature impact testing, and the matching welding materials are also tested under low-temperature conditions; therefore, the highest impact temperature plus 20 degrees can be used as the minimum test temperature. It has nothing to do with whether this container is a cryogenic container, right?
