According to GB/T5293, the “×” symbol indicates multiple passes of welding; X denotes multi-pass welding, while S denotes single pass welding on both sides. In S43×0MS-SU26, the digit 0 represents the temperature for the impact test; a value of Y indicates 20°C, while 0 denotes an impact test at 0°C. The impact temperature for Q235B steel plates is 20°C, so Y is used. Please take another look to see if my understanding is correct. Thank you!

This standard defines filler wires and strips; the wires used in submerged arc welding, as we commonly refer to them, are defined as strips in this standard, and the letter B is used in their model numbers. However, in the example on page 2 of GB/T17854-2018, S308L is used to denote the wire model. This is confusing; according to GB/T29713, shouldn’t it be B308L here?
