What is the meaning of the set pressure on the safety valve nameplate? For example, for a safety valve with a nominal pressure of 1.6 MPa, the set pressure can be 1.6, 1.5, 1.0, 0.8, and so on. Why is it necessary to indicate the set pressure on the nameplate at the time of manufacturing?
Just as the design pressure indicated on the nameplate of a pressure vessel and the pressure class specified on the flange allow one to clearly see the upper limit for which the safety valve is suitable.
It’s a suggested value; there’s no need to worry too much about it, as long as it stays within the specified range.
