On December 9, the first lifting of Tower No. 4 of the air separation unit was successfully completed for the first phase of the olefins, aromatics, and advanced processing project of the 15 million tons per year demonstration project for clean and efficient conversion of coal at Shaanxi Coal Group Yulin Chemical Co., Ltd., a project that is under the general contract of China National Chemical Engineering Corporation Hualu Company (referred to as “Phase 1 of Phase 2”). This became the first large-scale piece of equipment to be installed in this project. The Shaanxi Coal Yulin Chemical Project for the clean and efficient conversion of coal based on different quality grades is the largest coal chemical project under construction in the world. The No. 4 water cooling tower is 33.7 meters tall, 5.55 meters in diameter, and weighs 91 tons; it constitutes a major key component of the air separation unit. Wang Kai, deputy general manager of Hualu Company, said that as the \"lifeline\" of the project’s industrial chain, 5 sets of plants with a capacity of 100,000 standard cubic meters per hour (for oxygen) are to be built in this air separation section. Once completed, they will play a significant role in improving the efficiency of comprehensive utilization of coal resources and facilitating the green and low-carbon transformation of the coal chemical industry. Next, the company’s project department will adhere to the construction philosophy of \"high standards, strict requirements, and creation of high-quality projects,\" make full use of the advantages of EPC general contracting, coordinate safety, quality, and schedule management, strengthen resource allocation and collaborative support, advance project construction efficiently, and strive to deliver satisfactory results to the client. It is also understood that the substation for the polypropylene plant in this project, which is under the general contracting of Hualu Company, has been successfully completed, laying a solid foundation for subsequent construction. These breakthroughs at the two key stages mark a significant acceleration and improvement in the construction of the air separation unit and the polypropylene plant projects, as they officially enter a critical phase of intensive effort to complete the construction.
