According to Sinochem News, at 11 a.m. on May 23, T201, the reformate fractionation tower of the aromatics complex – the core unit of China Petrochemical Corporation’s Jiujiang Branch’s 1.5 million tons per year aromatics production project – was successfully installed. This marks the completion of the installation work for the six super-large towers in this facility, a process that took over 5 months. Tower T201 is the core equipment of the plant and is crucial for the project’s commissioning and operation. The tower is 67 meters tall and weighs 470 tons; its large size and high center of gravity make it susceptible to wind forces, resulting in significant challenges in lifting it as well as elevated safety risks. The various departments of the Jiujiang Petrochemical Project management team conducted preliminary discussions and analyses, continuously optimized the construction plans, and thoroughly checked for potential safety hazards. The personnel on site performed their respective duties in close cooperation, accurately completing each task and successfully overcoming the challenges involved in the construction. Since December 2025, the team has been focusing on the schedule milestones to advance the equipment lifting in an orderly manner. The completion of this lifting operation marks a significant breakthrough in the installation of the main equipment for the aromatic compounds complex; the project has now entered a new phase focused on additional installations, pipeline laying, and mechanical and electrical testing. Next, the team will make use of the construction window period, adhere strictly to safety and quality standards, refine on-site management, and spare no effort to accelerate the project’s progress so as to ensure its completion and commissioning at the earliest possible time.
