In the new version of the standards for steel atmospheric pressure vessels, it is explicitly stipulated that the previous Chapter 12 on vertical cylindrical storage tanks has been removed; the design codes we are currently using apply to steel vertical cylindrical oil tanks, and these codes are not suitable in this context. Dear teachers, since this part has been removed, what standards should we use to design this part of it?
Hasn’t anyone designed anything in this area? It’s so frustrating; the original standard wasn’t even declared invalid. It merely refers to substitution.
I don’t understand what the original poster means – are they trying to create a pressure vessel or a vertical storage tank? In the case of vertical storage tanks, the portion that is omitted essentially overlaps with what is specified in GB50341; together with GB50128, it is entirely possible to carry out the work
Oil tanks can be constructed in accordance with GB50341, while water tanks can be built in compliance with SH3046
The approach used on the 3rd floor is correct; for large storage tanks, API620 or API650 can be referred to.

Models 50128 and 50341 are designed for use in oil tanks, whereas the design I created is intended for use with chemical-type media, such as chilled brine, trichloroethylene, and other non-toxic substances of that kind. That’s why the medium is not suitable. Especially for small storage tanks with a diameter of 3–5 meters and a height of 4–8 meters, the original value of 4735 is still quite clear.
Reply to 6# purplerose: 1.50341 – although it is named for oil tanks, it is not only suitable for them; its applicable medium range can be checked for details. 2.50341 is also not limited to large storage tanks, as there is no minimum size requirement

The equipment we are working on now is of this type as well; it has a conical tip, and the medium used is a regular solution, not oil. It was designed in accordance with standards 50341 and 50128
