If the interior of carbon steel equipment is lined for corrosion protection, is it still necessary to include a corrosion margin in the data sheet?
Is that anti-corrosion lining made of stainless steel? Then it shouldn’t be necessary, right? I saw a container made of composite material, with a corrosion residue of 0 inside
If the medium does not corrode the anti-corrosion material, the corrosion allowance is 0; As for the anti-corrosion lining mentioned above, if it is made of stainless steel, then it might not be necessary. I don’t think that’s necessarily the case, as some substances can also corrode stainless steel; therefore, the degree of corrosion depends on the type of substance in question.
Yes! Lined with epoxy resin! But I’ve seen some drawings that state this, only for carbon steel; I’m not sure if that’s reasonable – could penetration still occur after lining?
What can penetrate is similar to a catalytic reactor; the reactor also features a tortoise-shell mesh structure along with three layers of lining, and there are still hot spots during its operation. So it depends on what the conditions are.
Our stainless steel lining is grade 0.
