Regarding the direction of the gaps in the condenser baffle plates

GB151 specifies that the gaps in the condenser baffle plates should be arranged vertically, left to right. What are the disadvantages of arranging them horizontally and vertically? After all, a horizontal arrangement makes it easier to install the pipes
Flipping up and down – doesn’t that create fluid resistance?
The vertical gap type facilitates vapor-liquid separation, promotes liquid flow out, and enhances heat transfer.
If my inlet and outlet connections are at the top, will this not affect the piping?
