Senior, I would like to ask for your advice: for my design requirements, is a U-tube heat exchanger better or a floating-head heat exchanger?
Please don’t call me a senior – it’s embarrassing; I’m just a beginner too. I have never encountered a situation where both the shell side and the tube side are under high pressure, so I’m not able to give you a definite answer. I suggest you consult the \"Heat Exchanger Design Manual\" (edited by Qian Songwen). U-tube heat exchangers are generally used in high-temperature and high-pressure conditions. The applicable pressure for the shell side of a floating-head heat exchanger is limited by the sealing of the sliding contact surface.
I used EDR to simulate it as a U-tube heater with two passages and double shells, but I’ve never worked with this type of design before. I would appreciate it if the original poster could provide a diagram to help with the design; thank you!
