Excuse me, everyone! I have curves exported from ASPEN, and I’m trying to use HTRI to analyze the thermal siphon heat exchanger in a distillation tower, but I’ve run into some problems. First, in Aspen, I increased the pressure at the inlet of the heat exchanger by 20 kPa based on the bottom of the tower pressure (0.16 MPa), and then applied an additional pressure drop of 20 kPa; this resulted in two curves corresponding to pressures of 0.18 MPa and 0.16 MPa. The reboiler results imported into HTRI calculations are incorrect; firstly, the load differs significantly from those calculated by Aspen, and secondly, the outlet vaporization rate and temperature do not match the values obtained from Aspen calculations as well. What value do people usually choose for Reboiler pressure location in THERMOSIPHON within htri? Based on the two curves I provided, I think the AT inlet nozzle should be chosen, but there are issues with the calculation results. I guess it has something to do with the pressure curve I provided at 0.18 MPa. But I didn’t figure it out. Let’s talk about how people use HTRI to calculate reboilers Thank you so much! !

I once used HTRI and the EDR software built into Aspen to calculate the same reboiler, and the results differed significantly. When using HTRI to calculate partial phase changes, it’s best to review the heat load and vaporization rate values.
