The largest single-unit cold box of its kind in China is part of Zhejiang Petrochemical’s 40 million tons per year integrated refining and chemical processing project. Ultimately, thanks to its advanced technical capabilities and high-quality services, and after several rounds of competition with international air separation giants, it secured the contract for the design, supply, and maintenance of four 83,000 m3/h air separation units for Zhejiang Petrochemical. ? Zhejiang Petrochemical’s 40 million tons per year refining and chemical processing project: Zhejiang Petrochemical Co., Ltd.’s integrated refining and chemical processing facility with a capacity of 40 million tons per year is located on Yushan Island in Daishan County, Zhoushan City, within the Zhoushan Green Petrochemical Base. The planned area for this facility is approximately 41 square kilometers. The Zhoushan Green Petrochemical Base is one of the seven petrochemical industry bases that the **National Development and Reform Commission planned to develop as key projects during the 13th Five-Year Plan period. This project is a key initiative of the base; its implementation will help to increase the scale and concentration of China’s petrochemical industry bases, promote the optimization and upgrading of related processing industries. It is of great significance for enhancing the competitiveness of China’s aromatic hydrocarbons and PTA-PET industries as well as ensuring industrial security, and for strengthening the overall competitiveness and sustainable development of the petrochemical sector. ? The scale of the first phase of this integrated refining and chemical project is 20 million tons per year for oil refining, 4 million tons per year for PX, and 1 million ton per year for ethylene production ； Phase 2 includes 20 million tons per year of oil refining, 4.8 million tons per year of PX, and 1.2 million tons per year of ethylene. The first phase of the project is scheduled to come online in August 2018; the bidding for the associated air separation equipment is planned to be completed by July 2016, with the turbine testing to take place in June 2018. ? Zhejiang Petrochemical’s four sets of 83,000 m3/h air separation units represent the largest contract order for Hangyang since the contract for Shenhua Ningmei’s six sets of 100,000 m3/h air separation units. Since the beginning of 2016, this project has attracted the attention of major manufacturers from home and abroad; well-known global companies in the field of air separation equipment from Germany, France, and the United States have all sent their best teams to compete for this project. Relying on its advanced technical capabilities and high-quality services, Hangyang competed against international air separation giants in several rounds of bidding, and ultimately secured the contract for the design, supply, and maintenance of four 83,000 m3/h air separation units for Zhejiang Petrochemical. The signing of this contract has broken the monopoly held by foreign companies in the field of super-large air separation equipment for integrated refining and chemical processing projects.
