Regarding the issue of paraffin oil corrosion

Could anyone with expertise please explain the properties of paraffin oil that meets food-grade standards? It is used for heat exchange, and pitting corrosion occurs on 316L plates under these conditions: temperature not exceeding 120 degrees, and pressure not exceeding 5 KG. Yet in some cases, no corrosion occurs, which is quite puzzling. I would appreciate any guidance. Thank you
It’s not separation; it’s just a plate exchanger used to cool paraffin oil. It still corrodes, but there are ones that don’t corrode. Under what conditions does corrosion occur? For example, temperature and pressure?
It’s chlorinated paraffin, right? Paraffin itself does not cause corrosion to stainless steel, but those containing chlorine do. What does stainless steel fear the most? It fears chloride ions the most. As long as the temperature is below 120 degrees and the chloride ion concentration is within 80 mg/L, 316L stainless steel can withstand such conditions. If it exceeds 80mg/L, then the spot corrosion you mentioned will occur.
