Dear experts: My packed tower has two reboilers in its bottom section. During maintenance, one of the steam traps was replaced with one that has a higher flow rate. After it was put into use, this trap experienced significant vibration, while the other trap showed no such vibration. I would like to ask whether the high vibration is caused by the difference in flow rates between the two steam traps

The replacement trap is larger... You should have existing data regarding the intended discharge volume. If a larger trap is used, could there be frequent opening and closing due to the high instantaneous discharge volume? In other words, the valve seat might get damaged from such frequent opening and closing. It is recommended that you reevaluate whether a larger trap is really necessary
