As stated in GB150.2 in the figure, a drop hammer test can be conducted additionally, but the acceptance criteria must be specified in the design documents. How should these acceptance criteria be determined? Upon checking the material standards and GBT6803, it is not indicated how to establish the acceptance criteria; only the method for determining the final test temperature is specified. However, it is not clear how to determine the amount of stress that the material should be able to withstand.
Some people say this rule is ambiguous, wondering whether this requirement is imposed only when both conditions before and after the ‘and’ are met.
