I want to condense the feed gas in three stages. The calculated heat exchange area for the first stage is 1,300 square meters, 500 square meters for the second stage, and around 400 square meters for the third stage. Circulating water, water at 5 degrees Celsius, and chilled brine are to be used as cooling media respectively. The feed gas contains water, methanol, and methyl acetal; its inlet temperature is approximately 100°C, and it needs to be cooled down to around 38°C. What type of condenser would be suitable?

With an exhaust temperature of 38 degrees, why is cold saline used as the cooling source? If the logarithmic temperature difference on both sides is increased in advance to reduce the required area, such a design results in high operating costs, which seems like focusing on trivial details while ignoring the essential aspects. . . . Does the material contain chloride ions? It is advisable to use a graphite heat exchanger when the chloride ion concentration reaches a certain level.
