The refrigerant is drawn in on the low-pressure side of the compressor; it is compressed by the compressor to become a high-temperature, high-pressure fluid. This high-temperature, high-pressure fluid is then discharged from the high-pressure side as exhaust gas. The high-temperature, high-pressure refrigerant is cooled through air cooling or water cooling to become a liquid refrigerant at a lower temperature. This liquid refrigerant undergoes throttling expansion to turn into a refrigerant in a gaseous state at high velocity, and it then passes through a heat exchanger to perform cooling. The gaseous refrigerant subsequently returns to the low-pressure side. That’s roughly how the refrigerant circulates.
