Tests conducted on-site showed that these systems have a fast heating rate and precise temperature control, with all performance indicators meeting the expected standards, thus earning recognition from the client. This achievement represents a breakthrough by Tianhua Institute in the field of key equipment for high-end polyolefin plants, providing strong support for strengthening and expanding China’s high-performance polyolefin industry chain. This LDPE plant is currently the largest monomer-based low-density polyethylene production facility in the world. It utilizes a unique high-pressure tubular process to manufacture a variety of high-quality polyethylene products. There is strong demand for such products in fields such as healthcare, food packaging, and high-end industrial materials; previously, China relied heavily on imports for these products. The commissioning of this facility will effectively fill the gap in China’s high-performance polyolefin market. As a key supporting device for this apparatus, the complexity and technical requirements of the thermal chamber system far exceed those of ordinary integrated control boxes. Due to the use of a high-pressure tubular process in this device, a high-temperature environment must be maintained inside the heat box system. Additionally, it is equipped with various instruments such as automatic control valves and flow transmitters; the installation accuracy, fixing stability of these instruments, as well as their insulation from the high-temperature environment, directly affect the stable operation of the entire device and the quality of its products. Faced with this entirely new challenge, the project’s R&D team conducted in-depth research on the core requirements of the high-pressure tubular process. I communicated multiple times with the client’s technical staff to thoroughly analyze key parameters such as the temperature range of the heat box system, control parameters, and instrument response speed. Regarding the issues associated with the installation and operation of manual valves in high-temperature environments, as well as those related to the installation, fixation, thermal insulation, and stability of flow transmitters and automatic valve actuators, these problems were addressed one by one through clever structural design and repeated attempts. After nearly a year of research and development, design, and manufacturing, the 8 heat box systems were delivered to the customer’s site as scheduled. During the stage of integrated equipment debugging, the hot box system operated stably, and its control precision fully met the requirements for producing high-end polyethylene products. This successful application represents Tianhua Institute’s attempt in the field of key equipment for high-end polyolefin plants; it has not only enabled the acquisition of valuable engineering experience but also demonstrated its technical capabilities in developing complex process equipment. In the future, Tianhua Institute will continue to focus on the field of high-performance materials and equipment, increase investment in research and development, and provide more technical support for the upgrading and development of China’s petrochemical industry.
