First, when installing the sprocket with a plastic chain plate, it is necessary to ensure that the sprocket is not skewed or swinging. On the same drive assembly, the two sprockets must also remain in the same plane; there should be very little error, and no friction is allowed. If the offset is too large, chain slippage will occur. Therefore, extra care and thorough inspection are necessary when replacing sprockets. Secondly, the tightness of the plastic chain plates in the chain must be appropriate; if it is too tight, power consumption will increase, and the bearings are prone to wear. When it is too loose, the chain will jump and come unclipped. If the new chain is too long, or if it cannot be adjusted properly after being used for some time, then it needs to be removed depending on the circumstances, but the number of segments removed must always be even. Third, when the sprocket of a plastic chain plate is severely worn, it is necessary to replace both the sprocket and the chain at the same time to ensure optimal fit. It’s not possible to replace the chain and sprocket separately; otherwise, without proper running-in, it will instead accelerate the wear and damage of the parts. Do not use a new chain together with an old one; otherwise, shocks may occur or the chain could break. In the course of work, it is also necessary to apply lubricant appropriately and improve working conditions, in order to reduce wear on the parts. Based on the maintenance considerations outlined above, when using plastic chain plates, it is indeed necessary to pay attention to these maintenance issues in order to ensure that the chain plates can be used for a long time and their service life can be extended.
