As the title suggests, there are two key issues: efficiency and energy consumption. I hope the experts in the group can help solve them. Thank you. 1. Benefits of processing light oil and heavy oil? Generally, it should be more profitable to process light oil than heavy oil. Now the question is: can it be roughly assumed that oils with lower density are more profitable to process than those with higher density? Or, judged by the slag reduction yield, is it more cost-effective to process those with a low slag reduction yield (classified as light oil) rather than those with a high slag reduction yield (classified as heavy oil)? Can the efficiency be assessed by referring to crude oil density and slag reduction yield? 2. Energy consumption issue? Is the energy consumption for processing light oil higher than that for processing heavy oil? The reason is that light oil has a relatively large latent heat of vaporization, resulting in high energy consumption in furnaces operating at the same temperature and atmospheric pressure. Assuming the reasoning is valid, I still don’t understand it: there is a large amount of heavy oil going into the vacuum distillation furnace, which results in high energy consumption for that furnace. Even if the temperature is adjusted back to the desired level through heat exchange, there are still efficiency issues. I’m not sure whether the additional energy consumed by the vacuum distillation furnace or the latent heat of light oil being utilized in the atmospheric pressure furnace consumes more energy I’m a complete beginner, so I hope the experts in the group can offer some guidance. Expert, I’d like to ask whether processing light oil is profitable; can this be roughly determined by the slag reduction rate? In other words, the slag reduction yield is low, while a higher proportion of distillate being obtained offers better benefits – can this be considered as a general rule?
