Dear experts, one of our pressure vessels needs to undergo a pressure test at a pressure of 1.4 MPa. Due to the special structure of this vessel, when testing with water, some air remains inside and cannot be completely expelled, resulting in a mixture of air and water. I am not aware of the negative effects this might have on the pressure test compared to a situation where all the air can be properly removed. I would appreciate your guidance; I’m waiting urgently online!
The area where the gas is stored has actually been subjected to airtightness tests, not water pressure tests; it’s essentially a test that combines air pressure and water pressure. This method is not accurate, and since gases have a high compressibility, any drop in pressure caused by leaks during pressure retention is not obvious and difficult to detect
When pressure is applied, there are leaks in the space occupied by air, which are not easy to detect, especially in minor cases; water can be seen to cause wetting, but this is not possible with air.
This can refer to the gas-liquid combination test specified in GB150
