Powered roller conveyors are an important type of roller conveyor. It is commonly used in horizontal or slightly upward inclined conveying lines. The drive mechanism transmits power to the drum, causing it to rotate, and transports the items through the friction between the surface of the drum and the surface of the items being conveyed. Based on the driving method, there are separate driving and grouped driving. Each roller of the former is equipped with a separate drive mechanism to facilitate removal. The latter consists of several rollers grouped together and driven by a single driving mechanism, in order to reduce the cost of the equipment. The transmission methods for group drive include gear transmission, chain transmission, and belt transmission. Power roller conveyors are generally driven by AC motors; as needed, they can also be driven by two-speed motors or hydraulic motors. A powered roller conveyor mainly consists of two end rollers and a closed conveyor belt fitted tightly around them. The drum that drives the conveyor belt to rotate is called the drive drum (transmission drum) ; Another drum that merely changes the direction of belt movement is called a redirecting drum. The drive drum is driven by an electric motor through a reducer, and the conveyor belt is pulled by the friction between the drive drum and the belt. The drive drum is usually installed at the discharge end to increase traction, which facilitates pulling. The material is fed in from the feeding end and falls onto the rotating conveyor belt; the friction generated by the conveyor belt drives the material out through the discharge end of the conveyor bag. Compared to other conveying machines, powered roller conveyors have a faster and more efficient conveying speed, thanks to their high-performance transmission components. The transmission components of power roller conveyors include a very important part, namely plastic bearings. If we want to improve the mechanical performance of power roller conveyors, it is necessary to enhance the production and manufacturing processes for these plastic bearings. Only plastic bearings produced using more refined and advanced manufacturing techniques can help ensure the efficient operation of power roller conveyors. When manufacturing plastic bearings for power roller conveyor components, we have a very important parameter to determine the quality of these plastic bearings, and that parameter is the clearance value. The clearance value refers to the amount of movement that occurs when one of the inner or outer rings of a plastic bearing is fixed, while the other ring is moved upward, downward, to the left, or to the right. The setting and control of this value determine the precision level of the plastic bearings used in components for conveyor belts in the cosmetics industry. The magnitude of the clearance value affects properties such as the vibration and noise levels, as well as the fatigue life of plastic bearings. Here, we would like to remind everyone to try to avoid using plastic for manufacturing plastic bearings used in power roller conveyor components. The reason is that plastic bearings made of plastic lack sufficient stiffness and hardness; such insufficient stiffness and hardness can lead to high friction when the power roller conveyor is operating at high speeds. This excessive friction causes the temperature of the plastic bearings to rise, which in turn results in the softening and melting of the resin within those bearings. This further increases the frictional forces associated with the plastic bearings, thereby having a negative impact on the entire conveying process. In severe cases, it may even be necessary to stop the machine for maintenance. The design parameters of powered roller conveyors include: the calculation of the pulling force for single-chain and double-chain drives, as well as the power calculation for powered roller conveyors. Power roller conveyors are mostly used for transporting items with a flat bottom; they feature very high speeds, smooth operation, large handling capacity, and the ability to handle multiple product types simultaneously along the same conveyor line ; It is easy to integrate filtration between powered roller conveyors; multiple roller conveyor lines and other conveying devices, or specialized machines, can be used to create complex logistics transmission systems that meet the various process requirements. The power roller conveyor has a relatively simple structure, high reliability, and is easy to use and maintain.
