The bed of the surface grinder is made of cast iron, which provides good rigidity; the cast bed has undergone quenching and annealing treatments. The grinder’s spindle is equipped with high-precision imported bearings, and the motor used is an inverter-driven motor with variable speed control, which allows for adjustment of the linear speed of the grinder. The motors are also precisely dynamically balanced, ensuring that the workpieces produced have a smooth surface finish. Inside the frame box of the surface grinder (i.e., behind the spindle), there is a rolling dresser for dressing multi-flute grinders or a dresser for dressing triangular threads; during rolling, the rolling wheel rotates driven by a motor, while the dressing of triangular threads is achieved by using a hydraulic cylinder to make a diamond tip move. The headstock spindle is supported by a pair of high-precision angular contact bearings at the inlet side and a precision radial ball bearing; a backlash gear is installed at the rear end of the spindle to eliminate the reverse backlash during bidirectional grinding. The rotation of the headstock spindle is achieved by a servo motor driving it through a toothed belt, allowing for stepless adjustment of the speed. The shaving of the screw rod is achieved by a cam on the shaving mechanism driving the slide plate to move horizontally, thereby causing the front end of the bracket to move vertically and prompting the swing frame to swing. The main force-bearing component of a surface grinder is the engine, but there is another important factor that cannot be ignored, and that is the screw. If the quality of the screw does not meet the requirements or if it is too thin, and if the planer has excessive power, operates at a high speed, or uses large cutting depths, then the screw may deform or even break. Therefore, in this case, the load-bearing capacity of the screw must be considered. The main function of the chip removal device is to remove chips from the machining area outside the grinder. The chips from surface grinders and grinders often mix with cutting fluid. The chip removal device separates the chips from it, while the grinder sends the chips away. In the collection box (vehicle), the cutting fluid is recovered and sent back to the cutting fluid tank. For the rough machining of blanks, the important issue is the strength of the machine tool, that is, how large the feed rate per pass should be. Since its rough machining is of a coarse nature, precision requirements are not high, but efficiency requirements are high; therefore, this machine tool needs to be powerful and equipped with a large number of fixtures.
