Belt conveyors are generally used for feeding or transporting materials with high dust content, and in such cases the conveyor speed can range from 0.8 to 1 m/s, or it can be determined based on the properties of the materials and the requirements of the manufacturing process. 2. When manually weighing ingredients, the speed of the belt conveyor should not exceed 1.25 m/s; when transporting finished products, the belt speed is generally less than 1.25 m/s. 3. When the belt conveyor has a high throughput and wide conveyor belts, a higher belt speed should be selected. 4. For longer horizontal belt conveyors, a higher belt speed should be selected; the greater the inclination angle of the belt conveyor and the shorter the conveying distance, the lower the belt speed should be. 5. For belt conveyor systems handling materials that tend to roll, have a large particle size, are highly abrasive, or generate dust easily, as well as in situations where high environmental hygiene standards are required, it is advisable to use a lower belt speed. 6. When a plow-type unloader is used, the speed of the conveyor belt in the belt conveyor system should not exceed 2.0 m/s. 7. When a weighing scale is available, the speed of the belt conveyor should be set according to the requirements of the automatic weighing scale. 8. When using a discharge vehicle, the speed of the belt conveyor should generally not exceed 2.5 m/s; when transporting fine materials or small pieces of material, the allowable speed is 3.15 m/s.
