The screw conveyor has a simple structure, but several problems often arise during certain operations. Everything has a wear and tear period, especially non-standard products such as mechanical equipment. Inevitably, unexpected problems will arise during use. I. The cessation of rotation of the screw shaft in a spiral conveyor is generally caused by three reasons ; 1. The material conveyed by the screw conveyor is too large, preventing it from passing smoothly through the intermediate suspension bearings; the mechanical resistance posed by these bearings is too high. This causes the motor to stop operating when overloaded. At this time, the material in the screw conveyor needs to be cleaned. 2. The resistance of the intermediate bearing of the screw conveyor is too high, and the seal is damaged. Materials entering the bearing can cause the bearing to fail to rotate or get damaged. 3. The bearings of the screw conveyor reducer were burned out. II. The temperature of the bearings in the screw conveyor reducer rises too quickly after operation, and there is abnormal noise accompanied by vibrations in the motor and the reducer. At this point, you should stop immediately and identify the cause in the following areas: 1. The bearing temperature of the output shaft of the screw conveyor reducer is high. The temperature of the input shaft is normal. This is because there is a center offset in the screw shaft or the bearings on the reducer’s output shaft have burned out; it is necessary to loosen the connection between the reducer’s output shaft and the screw shaft in order to re-calibrate the installation. 2. The bearing temperature of the output shaft of the screw conveyor reducer is normal, while the temperature of the input shaft is high. This is due to loose motor mounting components or burned-out bearings at the reducer output shaft. The connection between the reducer input shaft and the motor should be loosened to realign the installation. 3. The output temperature of the screw conveyor reducer and the temperature of the input bearings are high. This is because the fixing bolts of the reducer are loose or the bearings at both ends of the reducer have burned out. The couplings at both ends of the reducer should be loosened and re-calibrated for installation!
