As the demand for product anti-counterfeiting and traceability increases, inkjet printers have become common equipment in industrial production lines. If such printers fail to emit ink during operation, it can affect the entire production schedule and output capacity. So, what are the reasons why an inkjet printer doesn’t spray ink? And how should it be handled? Taking the UV coding machine for anti-counterfeiting tracking QR codes as an example, the reasons for no ink output from this device are as follows: 1. The nozzles are severely clogged; dust and other contaminants from the environment mixing into the ink can cause blockages in the nozzles. Alternatively, prolonged downtime of the device, along with direct exposure of the nozzle panels to light, can lead to the curing of the ink and subsequent blockages. Solution: You can try cleaning the nozzle using ultrasonic vibration or by soaking it in a cleaner ; Furthermore, a protective cover must be used when the machine is not in use to cover the nozzle and prevent ultraviolet rays from reaching it. 2. The voltage of the nozzle is low; the level of this voltage determines the degree of bending of the piezoelectric ceramic inside the nozzle. Therefore, a higher voltage can increase the amount of ink ejected, while too low a voltage may result in no ink being discharged. Solution: Adjust the voltage appropriately and check whether ink is discharged. 3. The ink path or ink tubes of the inkjet printer are damaged, air gets into the ink tubes, or the ink contains a large number of bubbles, which results in an interruption in ink supply. Solution: If the ink cartridge is damaged, a professional engineer is required to replace it or the entire ink supply system. If ink interruption is caused by air bubbles in the ink, clean the machine’s pipelines with a cleaning agent, then use original, qualified ink to restore ink flow. 4. The nozzle is damaged or its circuit board is burnt out, preventing the nozzle from functioning properly and resulting in no ink being ejected. Solution: Replace the nozzle or circuit board. It is prohibited to use any sharp or hard objects to wipe the nozzle, and it is also prohibited to use non-original cleaning solutions to clean the nozzle or the machine’s pipelines, as this may damage the nozzle. To clean the nozzle, please use the original manufacturer’s dust-free cloth. The main reason for the lack of ink output in UV inkjet printers is improper operation or maintenance. It is once again emphasized to use original manufacturer’s ink, cleaners, and other consumables, as well as to carry out regular maintenance, especially for the print heads.
