This is achieved by monitoring the stability of the control valve; continuous movement in the same direction of the control valve that is not caused by changes in the set point is detected as an air leak. The valve positioner provides real-time leakage detection; this alarm indicates issues with the performance of the air leakage control valve during operation. Any air leakage can lead to unstable control behavior and possible valve oscillation. Possible cause: Loose pipe fittings in the pneumatic air line from the valve positioner to the actuator, or a leak within the actuator, will trigger this operational diagnostic alarm. Recommended action: Check the valve actuator, actuators, pipelines, and fittings for any leaks, and also examine the actuator diaphragm, cylinder seals, and actuator stem packing for signs of leakage. Take corrective actions to resolve the issue, and then activate the leak test function of the locator to verify whether the leakage problem has been solved. Non-volatile data defect (F096.018) Alarm priority: Failure Alarm severity: High Alarm HMI display code: F096.018 Alarm description: This alarm indicates a fault or failure in the non-volatile (NV) data stored in the valve positioner’s memory chip. Possible cause: Defect or malfunction in the chip data. The valve actuator tests and verifies the integrity of the NV chip. Recommended action: Replace the valve positioner main board and perform a new automatic adjustment.
