An assembly production line composed of variable-speed chain conveyors is commonly referred to as a gravity-fed conveying system. Variable-speed chain conveyors are primarily used for transporting materials in assembly and processing lines. The industries that most frequently use such conveyors include computer monitor production lines, computer motherboard production lines, laptop assembly lines, air conditioner production lines, television set assembly lines, microwave oven assembly lines, printer assembly lines, fax machine assembly lines, audio amplifier production lines, and engine assembly lines. I. Working Principle of the Variable-Speed Chain Conveyor The conveying principle of a variable-speed chain conveyor relies on the speed-increasing function of the variable-speed chain, which enables the tray that carries the goods to move at high speed; it can stop at the appropriate operating position using barriers, or it can carry out tasks such as stacking, moving, rotating, and shifting to different paths based on corresponding commands. Since the conveyor pallets of this machine need to be reused repeatedly, it is rarely used alone; instead, it is combined with various specialized machines such as lifting and translating machines, lifting and positioning machines, etc., to form horizontal or vertical circulation systems. II. Characteristics of the double-speed chain conveyor 1. The double-speed chain conveyor uses a chain as the means for pulling and carrying materials; this chain can be an ordinary sleeve roller conveyor chain, or it can be various other special types of chains ; 2. The double-speed chain conveyor has a high conveying capacity and can handle heavy loads ; 3. The double-speed chain conveyor features accurate and stable conveying speed, ensuring precise synchronized transportation ; 4. The double-speed chain conveyor facilitates stacked conveying; it can be used in assembly lines or for storing and transporting materials ; 5. The high-speed chain conveyor can operate in various harsh environments (high temperatures, dust), offering reliable performance ; III. Composition of the variable-speed chain conveyor The variable-speed chain conveyor is composed of six types of components: inner chain plates, sleeves, rollers, wheels, outer chain plates, and pins. (1) For part material high-speed chain conveyors, the rollers are usually made by injection molding engineering plastics; steel materials are used only when carrying heavy loads. All other components are made of steel. (2) Part connection method: The structure of the double-speed chain conveyor belt is similar to that of a regular double-pitch roller chain. Specifically: ① Pin and outer chain plate: The pin and the outer chain plate are fitted together using an interference fit, thereby forming the frame of the chain link. ②Pin and inner link plate: Both the pin and the inner link plate are designed with a clearance fit, allowing the chain to bend. ③Pin and sleeve: There are generally two ways to connect a pin and a sleeve, as shown in Figure 3. One of them involves inserting a sleeve into the inner chain plate to achieve an interference fit with it, as shown in Figure 3(a) ; Another method is not to insert the sleeve into the inner chain plate, but to simply fit the sleeve over the pin, as shown in Figure 3(b). In both cases, there is a clearance fit between the sleeve and the pin. ④Sleeve and roller: There is a clearance fit between the sleeve and the roller, allowing them to rotate relative to each other. ⑤Rollers and rollers: There is a clearance fit between the rollers, allowing them to rotate relative to each other, which helps to reduce wear between them during operation; this is very important for continuous long-distance transportation. (3) To form a closed circular structure, the speed multiplier chain, like other roller chains, also requires a connecting element known as a connecting link. After these connecting links join the two ends of the chain, locking devices must be installed to prevent the connecting links from coming loose.
