A conveying sorter, also known as a cross-belt sorting system, consists of a main drive belt conveyor and trolleys equipped with small belt conveyors (referred to as “cars”). It relies on these cars, which have transverse conveyor belts on circular tracks, to carry and load/unload items. When the cart reaches the designated loading position, the loading equipment transports the items onto the cart; upon reaching the unloading position, the cart uses its own belt to unload the items into the designated compartments for sorting. The sorting cart of the conveyor sorting machine is the mechanism used for sorting goods; it is distributed along the entire circular track, and its movement is powered by the thrust exerted on the secondary plate by linear motors. On the cart, the belt system is powered by electric drums or motors to carry out the loading and unloading of goods, and it moves smoothly along the circular track thanks to the driving wheels and limit wheels mounted on the traveling frame. The package feeding machine is the mechanism used for feeding packages onto the sorting machine. It enables goods to be transported to carts for packaging; workers place the packages on this machine. Each package feeding machine can handle more than 1,500 items per hour. With a proper design of the conveyor system, fully automatic packaging is possible, allowing each machine to process over 2,000 items per hour. Additionally, volume and weight checking functions can be added as needed. The linear motor in conveyor sorters provides the power for the movement of the cart along the tracks. Since it operates without mechanical friction, this type of transmission reduces mechanical wear on the equipment; it also features low mechanical noise and is easy to install and maintain. The inlet of a conveying and sorting machine is the designated entry point where goods arrive after being unloaded from carts. It can be categorized based on attributes such as the delivery address, type of item, and size of the item, and can be designed in various formats according to specific requirements, such as chute-type, roller-type, or bag-falling type.
