The bracket serves as the support for the main drive and the differential. The driving bevel gear is mounted directly on the bracket, while the driven large bevel gear is installed on the right housing of the differential; it is also mounted on the bracket along with the differential assembly. Power is transmitted from the transmission to the driving bevel gear via the drive shaft, which in turn drives the large bevel gear to rotate together with the differential assembly. From there, the power is passed on to the half-shafts that are connected to the bevel gear through splines, thus completing the transmission of power in the main drive system. At the same time, the direction of power transmission was changed, transferring the linear motion of the driving bevel gear to the lateral motion of the larger bevel gear whose axis is at 90° to it. The driving bevel gear is equipped with three bearings; the cylindrical roller bearing mounted at the end serves as a auxiliary bearing. This design constitutes a hyperstatic structure that prevents excessive deformation of the driving bevel gear. In such a statically indeterminate structure, if the geometric tolerances at the three bearing installation locations are too large, it is prone to abnormal damage. Therefore, a main drive structure that does not have bearings is called cantilever type. In the cantilever type, to prevent excessive deformation of the driving bevel gears, the structural dimensions are increased, and the distance between the two bevel bearings is enlarged. But to date, the vast majority of active helical bevel gears in Chinese wheel loaders have adopted a superstatic structure.
